On October 18th at 2:10 pm a woman who was attending the “No Kings” Protest in Jackson, Ohio was hit by a moving car. She was standing in the grass by a curb on Fulton Drive with a group of protestors who were all holding “No Kings” posters, when the white pick up truck drove up onto the curb. The car continued onto the curb until it made contact with the protestor. After hitting her, the truck sped away quickly while going into the wrong lane and almost hitting another car.
After being hit by the car, many bystanders ran over to help the woman. A doctor attended the protest and was able to take care of the woman until she could get to the hospital. It has been reported that her only injuries are a broken leg. However, many witnesses say her injuries could have been much worse.
With the combined work of the Jackson Township Police and The Ohio State Highway Patrol the suspect was found at his house. The driver was Donald Frank, a 77 year old resident of Jackson, Ohio.
Donald Frank was not charged with any felony charges after hitting a pedestrian with his car. Frank was charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of improper lane use. Many are not thrilled with the lack of charges and feel that Frank got off easy. The incident is viewed as a bipartisan issue.
