Christmas time is one of the most anticipated times of the year for everyone who celebrates it, as it brings a unique blend of warm feelings and nostalgia. Traditions are continued and passed on to new generations as families are getting ready for the big day. However, along with the holiday season comes a controversial topic with the debates of Christmas Eve vs. Christmas Day.
However, this topic should not be a debate, as Christmas Eve is far superior to Christmas Day. Don’t believe me? Here’s a list as to why:
- Tradition– Christmas Eve traditions are much better than those that are celebrated on Christmas Day. In my family, we all wear new matching pajama pants and watch the movie Elf. We have been doing this my whole entire life and it really settles us down and brings us together after a pretty busy day
- Anticipation– The anticipation of Christmas on Christmas Eve is so much more exciting than Christmas itself. By 3 p.m., , the day already feels over and many people are already dreading work or practice the next day. On Christmas Eve, you know that you don’t have anything but to celebrate the next day.
- Music– One of the most popular past times that comes with the Christmas season is music. On Christmas Eve, the only music that you will hear is Christmas music, while on Christmas day, past 3 p.m., it’s back to normal music like it’s a regular day. If you don’t enjoy Christmas music, maybe Christmas Day is for you, but if you want to get into the Christmas spirit, you will probably enjoy Christmas Eve.
All in all, Christmas Eve is far superior to Christmas Day and it needs to start getting the recognition that it deserves.
