The Blue Streak Cafe is spreading holiday cheer by bringing in a trio of new seasonal drinks, perfect way to start the holiday season off! Introducing Frosted Candy Cane Frozen Hot Chocolate, White Christmas Hot Chocolate, and the Holly Jolly Grinchmas Lemonade. These new wonderful beverages are guaranteed to bring some holiday cheer throughout the halls of Lake Middle High School.
The Blue Streak Cafe started in February of 2019, and it began as just a little coffee cart in the middle high school hallway. It now has bloomed into its very own designated room. Students in the marketing program are in charge of the cafe and they get the opportunity to apply what they learn in class by hands-on experience. The cafe is open every school morning from 6:55 to 7:24 and on Fridays during all lunch periods. Working in the cafe is actually a part of the Marketing students’ grade and the schedule of workers rotates weekly.
The Blue Streak Cafe always makes sure to keep up-to-date with holidays to keep relevance and keep their customers coming back. The new holiday drinks give customers a reason to keep coming back. Not only does the cafe introduce special holiday drinks, but has their regular menu consisting of drinks from hot chocolate to lemonade.
“I really like how we always introduce new drinks for the different seasons, it gives us something to look forward to. It also lets us get creative with drink ideas and decorating the cafe. It’s fun to learn how to make new drinks every few months and get to share them with our classmates as a little pick me up throughout the day,” cafe leade, Makana Coblentz said.
The trio of seasonal drinks consist of the Frosted Candy Cane which is a frozen hot chocolate with pumps of peppermint, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and Christmas sprinkles on top. The White Christmas does not disappoint either, as it is a white hot chocolate with pumps of toasted marshmallows, whipped cream, and mini marshmallows on top. And finally, the Holly Jolly Grinchmas which is lemonade with two pumps green apple and strawberry boba.
“My favorite new holiday drink is the Frosted Candy Cane. I usually get the regular frozen hot chocolate so the peppermint really adds to the flavor. My friends and I always look forward to going to the cafe at the end of the week,” says avid cafe customer, Lexi Bonvenuto.
The Blue Streak cafe ensures that every customer who stops by feels warmth and joy. Each drink is crafted with care, taking the traditional holiday flavors and adding a unique twist only the Blue Streak Cafe offers.
